PE & School Sport provision
P.E. Premium Funding
From September 2013 the Department for Education is providing schools with funding for P.E. provision to improve P.E. and sport within all primary schools. This funding can only be spent on provision of P.E. and sport in schools.
All Saints C.E. Primary has been allocated a total of £8850 for the Academic year September 2013 to August 2014. The funding is being spent on employing a qualified specialist P.E. instructor to allow a maximum impact on the participation of sport for all children within the school, and to provide professional development for the teaching staff.
A qualified specialist P.E. instructor is employed three afternoons a week to work alongside our teachers when teaching P.E. from Year 1 to Year 6. The aim of these sessions is to strengthen teaching and learning in P.E. across the school through learning a variety of new skills from a larger range of sports activities. The instructor provides planning and guidance to enable our teachers to find new ways of delivering the curriculum P.E. sessions along with providing support for, and engaging all children in, physical activities.
A lunchtime club is also run by the P.E. instructor to provide additional support in the playground. The aim of this provision is to encourage good behaviour and to provide enhanced opportunities for children to apply their skills and abilities. This is a fully accessible session and all children are free to take part.
The funding also helps to supplement after school clubs that are run by the specialist P.E. instructor twice a week. We have had a range of different activities including Netball, Football, Gym, Fencing and Athletics.
